When Medically Assisted in Dying was introduced in Canada, it was only intended for the Terminally Ill. Now, because of what is essentailly a "glitch" in legal interpretation, it includes Mental Illness by default. Yay. What happened to my country.
Back in March I was making a coffee in my kitchen and just happened to hear these words coming from the TV: "Medically Assisted Dying option for Mentally Ill people has been postponed until 2024." My jaw droppd, I turned to my mother and asked her if she heard the same thing I did. WTF? As far as I knew it was never included! WE DON'T DO THAT IN CANADA! Before I explain how this happened, here is the solution. Read the text in the image, this is how we prevent it. CONTACT YOUR MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT and explain that Medically Assisted In Dying is not an option for the Mentally Ill. What you read in the image below, will prevent it from becoming legal in 2024. What's next, Disabilities? Genetic Inferiority? Race?
